Impact of problem-based learning on nurse manager’s managerial competencies

Background: In the rapid changing environment, health organizations are facing greater challenges, which increase importance to promote problem based learning overcome daily work problem, and stay competitive. The ability create at is depending on knowledge experience of individuals, used solve ill structure new problems generate innovative solution. Aim: To examine impact problem-based nurse manager’s managerial competencies New El-Kasr ElAiny Teaching Hospital. Design: Quasi – experimental design was utilized in this study. Subject: a purposive sample mangers who working intensive care units (N=30). Setting: Study carried out all Tools: Three tools were for data collection: Problem-based questionnaire (25) questions, Problem-Based Learning Skills Questionnaire (23items), observational checklist (65) items. Results: There statistical significant difference total PBL test scores (F = 383.53, P 0.0001*), as well mean skills (F= 20477.6, 0.0001*) among managers during different periods assessment.
